Gossip Girl’s Not So Royal Wedding
By Rithanie Gonzales
Let’s gossip. This week’s episode of Gossip Girl has given us a lot of answers but a lot more suspicions. Seeing Blair hop from Nate to Chuck to Prince Louis and even a little bit of Humphrey through the years has been a whirlwind of drama. We thought that Blair would finally get her happily ever after. Though, if you’re like me you’ve been #TeamChair from the beginning. This wedding has definitely got the upper east side something to gossip about.
The Look: Becoming the future Princess of Monaco comes with a lot of pressure. Though, there was no pressure in ensuring her was going to be gorgeous. The Vera Wang A-line ballroom gown was obviously perfect, for Leighton Meester is the face of Vera Wang’s perfume Starstruck. Which royal bride had a better dress? Blair Waldorf or Kate Middleton?
Even if Blair’s dress was absolutely stunning, can we discuss her hair? I was a bit disappointed seeing that Blair’s hair had surely been curled in a curling wand and that the ends were practically straight. I would have loved to have seen luscious, romantic curls crown her veil. What do you think?
Georgina Sparks: Who would have guessed that the wicked witch would come to crash the wedding. She does do an excellent job stirring up trouble. Her mischievous ways definitely had Lilly and Rufus wound up. I can’t help but be secretly happy that she disturbed the wedding since Chuck had been hesitant in the first place. What do you think of her being Gossip Girl? Is she? Who submitted the video?
Chuck Bass: At the beginning of the episode I was in awe that Chuck would have let Blair be “happy” and not interfere. I was elated when Eleanor Waldorf came bursting into Chuck’s suite. Chuck surprises me in how much he has changed but his love for Blair tore my heart into million pieces as he confronts Blair in not marrying Louis. As Blair says, “I love you more and more everyday if it’s even possible to love someone that much” I don’t understand why she could just run away with Chuck right then and there. Chuck Bass does not speak up when the priest asks if anyone objects but then the video goes viral. Chuck keeps fighting and fighting for Blair but is it enough?
Dan Humphrey: This underdog has gotten on my last nerve. I hate how Blair confides in Dan the most to keep her secrets. He has been her night and shining armor and he never says no. I wish Serena would have just gotten him and that he wasn’t deeply, madly in love with Blair. Will Blair eventually end up with a Brooklyn boy? I hope not.
Last but definitely not least Prince Louis Grimaldi: To think that I thought he would be Prince Charming like in Cinderella. Boy, was I wrong. I know that he was humiliated during the wedding but he didn’t have to lead Blair into false hope. His mother was right, love is just a bonus and not it’s strictly business. I wanted to slit his throat during their first dance. Where would this show be without more drama in a royal marriage? I can’t wait to see how Blair terminates Prince Louis or if someone just saves Blair? I hope the Prince gets what he deserves.
Where do you think the fate of Gossip Girl will lie?
