Tour de Force: Summer Concerts Coming your Way
Okay, music fans. Summer is upon us, and that means it’s time for massive concert tours and music festivals all over the country. This year brings us an awesome variety, so no matter what you’re looking for, there will be a great event in your area. Looking through endless lists on ticket websites can be exhausting, so we’ve found the biggest and best of this summer’s concerts for you all to check out.
American Idols Live!: This tour comes around just after every new idol is crowned. Still a fan of the show? Check out your favorites from the season 11 top twelve, touring July through September.
Kelly Clarkson and The Fray: If you still love our original idol, she’ll be co-headlining with The Fray, featuring opening act Carolina Liar, from July through September.
One Direction: The newest boy band on the block, 1D is making a huge splash in the US this year, with tickets for their summer 2013 (that’s right) tour is already selling out. If you can manage to get your hands on tickets, they’re playing May through June.
Demi Lovato and Hot Chelle Rae: Hot young act and newly announced X-Factor judge Demi Lovato will be kicking off a summer tour with openers Hot Chelle Rae and Owl City, hitting 21 cities in June through August.
Coldplay: After a string of hit singles off their new album, “Mylo Xyloto,” Coldplay shows no signs of slowing down. They will be touring all over the world this year, but they’ll be rocking the US and Canada starting mid-June through August.
Red Hot Chili Peppers: If you’re looking for some serious rock, the Peppers are your guys, and they’ll be everywhere this year. You can catch them on select dates in June and August, but if not, they’ll be back later in the fall.
Miranda Lambert: Breakout country star and wife of “The Voice” coach Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert will be holding her own on her “Four the Record” summer tour. She’ll also be performing at various country events throughout the season.
LMFAO: Everyone’s favorite party rockers will be touring in the US this June only, so be prepared for sold-out crowds and over-the-top performances. Pack your fluorescent tights and grab tickets for their upcoming dates.
Nicki Minaj: The breakout female rapper has been blowing up the charts with hits like “Super Bass” and “Starships,” not to mention her Gaga-esque red-carpet style. Her “Pink Friday” tour is here July through August, so don’t miss out.
No summer would be complete without a couple of great festivals. For those of you who haven’t had the experience, summer music festivals usually last a few days and feature enormous lineups of bands from all over the spectrum. Here are my picks for the hottest ones this year.
