What to Pack In Your Travel Beauty Bag
By Delia Privitera
One of the worst things that you can do when traveling is over-pack. Things add up in your suitcase, and you don’t want to be that girl who can’t buy anything during the trip because your suitcase is already overflowing. Keep your clothes and your beauty bag under control and limit yourself to the essentials. Here’s a list of products that you should have in your beauty bag.
Sunscreen
An ABSOLUTE must in your beauty case is your sunscreen; you need SPF protection to block out those harmful UV rays!
Moisturizer & Acne Treatment
When you travel, your skin is prone to react to changes in the environment by drying up or breaking out so it’s always best to have a good moisturizer and acne treatment products at hand.
Foundation & Tinted Moisturizer or BB cream
Bring a tinted moisturizer or BB cream as well as your regular foundation. You don’t want to wear foundation all day if you’re going to be spending a lot of time outside and/or on the beach (you’ll sweat it off anyway!) so we recommend tinted moisturizer or BB cream for a lighter coverage.
Primer
Primer is a necessary step in your everyday makeup routine. Not only does it help makeup stay on all day but it also evens out skin tone and absorbs oil. Bring both a face and an eyeshadow primer.
Neutral Eye Palette
Bring a neutral eye palette with a base color, a highlighter color and two crease colors. One eye palette can go a long way! You can create day and night looks with the same palette by playing around with the intensity of the crease colors and by adding more eyeliner and mascara. Forget about packing up your entire eyeshadow collection, choose a neutral eye palette and you’ll be ready for the trip!
Blotting sheets
Blotting sheets soak up excess oil and remove shine from your face. Useful after a day at the beach or a long night out clubbing!
Nail Polish
Don’t stuff your beauty bag with nail polishes, simply choose a bold color and a neutral one and you’re set!
Makeup Brushes
Yes, they’re a bit of a drag to carry, but brushes are essential for correct makeup application. Bring a foundation brush, a contouring and blush brush, and your basic eye brushes.
Mascara and Eyeliner
Need we say more?
Waxing strips and razors
Don’t be the one girl who has to run to the nearest supermarket right after arriving at your final destination because she forgot these summer essentials. Plan ahead and pack accordingly.
Scissors
These always come in handy.
Toiletries
You know the deal. Pack travel sized shampoo/conditioner, body wash, lotion, cleanser and deodorant.
Hair accessories
With these essentials in your suitcase, you’ll be ready for fun summer days and wild parties!
