Rebecca Minkoff Designs for Women Everywhere

Rebecca Minkoff Designs for Women Everywhere
By Pilar Orellana

It all started at the Big Apple with an “I love New York” T-shirt. San Diego native, Rebecca Minkoff, had a knack for designing. She decided to move to New York to explore her talents, if only she knew how far her talent would take her.

She was first noticed with her clever “I Love New York” T-shirts that were featured on Jay Leno. In 2001, she launched a five-piece apparel line, which her T-shirt blew up the streets and magazines after being featured on Jay Leno. She then took a swing in the handbag business, born the Morning After bag.

This simple mod bag has celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Conrad flaunting their own Rebecca Minkoff creation. She is now known for her chic handbag collections.

In 2009, Rebecca Minkoff decided to go deeper in her love of clothing design, and launched a full apparel collection. That same year she was honored as one of the New York Moves Power Women in the fashion industry.

The rest is history; with her designs being spot-on edgy and glam for those uptown or downtown ladies. Now with a big staff working behind her, there is no telling what will come next with the Minkoff collection.

Each of her bags is decked out with studs, chains, and zippers that are perfectly placed without being over done. Her designs are wearable and chic for every girl and every occasion. She doesn’t miss a style beat, so when rocking anything Rebecca Minkoff, expect eyes glazing on you.

Minkoff also has a line of eyewear. Lots and lots of eye candy, that is all we can say about her new Spring 2012 eyewear collection. Drama cat-eye frames, pops of color, detailed hardware; the typical Rebecca Minkoff style of course.

Rebecca Minkoff is taking the fashion world by storm, and there is no telling what she will be creating next, all we know is we will be dying to get our hands on it.
