Six Shows to Watch Instantly This Summer
With summer comes a more flexible schedule and while most of the extra time will be spent outside here are shows to watch while you want a little time inside. Netflix makes it easy to watch many of your favorite TV shows. As long as you have an Internet connection and a Netflix account there are hundreds of hours of television shows and movies available at your fingertips. Here is a list of some of our favorite shows to keep you occupied this summer when you’re not basking in the sun:
“One Tree Hill”
The show starts off looking at two estranged half brothers living in the small town, Tree Hill who eventually become bound by their love of basketball and contempt for their father. This show is the quintessential teen television drama filled with scandals from love triangles to affairs to kidnappings plus so much more. So while “One Tree Hill” might have ended for good, the drama is just a click away.
“United States of Tara”
This dark comedy looks at the life of Tara Gregson — your not so average mother and wife who has dissociate identity disorder causing her to also be a teenager, a man, a 50′s housewife and more. Watching Toni Collette transform into such diverse characters and seeing how her family deals with her disorder brings bother laughter and tears.
This late 90′s teen supernatural drama looks at three hybrid human aliens living on earth and forming relationships with humans while trying to uncover their destiny in order to save their home planet. So if vampires and werewolves aren’t your thing but you still want to try out a supernatural drama give this one a chance.
This comedy is about a suburban mother who becomes a marijuana dealer after her husband passed away in order to support herself and her two sons in the comfortable lifestyle to which they had become accustomed. Watching this dysfunctional family continually get into trouble with the law, mobsters and deal with their wacky neighbors creates a multitude of unexpected laughs.
“How I Met Your Mother”
This sitcom tells the story of how Ted met his wife through flashbacks to his 20s, where he navigates his life and relationships alongside his best friends in New York City. This show will constantly keep you laughing whether listening to the “legen”- wait for it- “dary” jokes or seeing Marshall dress up as Cher for Halloween. The “How I Met Your Mother” gang will be sure not to disappoint.
“Friday Night Lights”
Everything is bigger and better in Texas including this series that gives an up close and personal look at Texas football. Coach Eric Taylor feels the pressure to having a winning team when he moves his family to Texas. The players also feel the pressures to please their small town in this drama that creates an intimate look of an iconic sport.
