How To Rock the “No Makeup” Look With Makeup
Alright ladies, question of the day – how would you feel about going out with absolutely no makeup on? Seriously. None.
For those of you that said “sure, no problem!”… we applaud you. The rest of us, however, might feel like we need just a little bit of coverage here, our favorite lipgloss there, in order to feel pretty confident about going out into the world. Whether you’re tired, sick, or just don’t feel like spending your usual amount of time doing your full makeup routine, there are ways of enhancing your natural beauty and making you feel great without using a ton of products. With the magic of makeup and the power of a light hand, you can achieve the perfect “no makeup” makeup look with just a few easy steps.
1) Spend some time in the morning really taking care of your skin. Put a little more time into cleansing and prepping your face with sunscreen and moisturizer, along with any other products you like to use.
2) Use a tinted moisturizer all over the face. It’s okay to use a foundation, but only in places you really need it, such as the T-zone and over any blemishes. Remember, we don’t want a full face of makeup so just cover what’s necessary and make sure you blend with the rest of the face so there are no harsh lines. Follow with a concealer under the eyes and anywhere else on the face if needed. Finish with a slight amount of powder just to set the makeup and take away some of the shine.
3) If you like curling your lashes, go for it! If not, you can skip that step and just use your favorite mascara to thicken your lashes. Defining your eyebrows is optional but if you choose to do it, use a light hand and only fill in the sparse areas; we want them to look natural so don’t worry about changing the shape or making them look super perfect.
4) For the cheeks and lips, you want to work with your natural coloring. Try to observe what color your cheeks turn when you blush and try to find a shade that matches it fairly closely. A cream blush is better over a powder because it’s more natural looking. You can use your fingers or a stippling brush to lightly apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks. For the lips, use the same cream blush to create a bit of a stain or a chapstick for just a hint of color.
It can feel great to keep your look a little more simple sometimes and really let your true self shine through. With these tips, you can create a polished look that doesn’t go overboard and still keeps you looking your very best.
