While you’ve been enjoying your summer, “50 Shades of Grey” has been sweeping the nation as a best-selling book and heating up the rumor mills about possible casting choices for a movie adaptation. Hollywood is buzzing about a few popular actors and actresses to take the leads for characters Ana and Christian Grey, and we’ve compiled a list of our own to round out the cast of this popular erotic trilogy.

Anastasia Steele

Nina Dobrev has been a fan-favorite pick for the strong, yet naive, Ana Steele, but we think there are several actresses who better fit the part. English actress, Felicity Jones, undoubtedly shared the same physical features as Ana with her dark hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. She definitely has the talent and experience after starring in last year’s Sundance favorite, “Like Crazy.” Alexis Bledel, “90210′s” Jessica Stroup, and indie darling, Elizabeth Olsen are also top choices to consider.

Christian Grey

Grey is a kinky, control-freak determined to introduce Ana to his “alternative” lifestyle. Chris Pine and Armie Hammer both have that smoldering gaze that can make any women melt. We can definitely see either of them in the pilot seat of Christian’s helicopter. Another choice would be Alex Pettyfer. Sure, he is a few years younger than Christian is supposed to be, but Alex possesses a sexy confidence that makes him seem more mature than his 22 years.

Kate Cavanaugh

Anastasia’s BFF, Kate, is effortlessly beautiful and ambitious. In some ways, the total opposite from Ana. Katie Cassidy can play fun-loving Kate, as we’ve seen her flex her happy-go-lucky side in “Taken” and her sassiness in “Gossip Girl.”  Julianne Hough is also a fresh face that should be thrown in the mix. She proved herself to Hollywood in this summer’s “Rock of Ages” and is on her way to becoming household name.

Elliot Grey

Ryan Kwanten is an obvious choice for Christian’s goofy, construction working, brother. Although Ryan is 35, we can easily see him playing a 25-year-old beach boy. We’re already giggling as we picture him saying “laters, baby!”

Elena Lincoln

Otherwise known as Mrs. Robinson, Elena is the married woman Christian had an affair with while he was a teenager. Elena is not a supporter of Ana and Christian’s relationship and is overall not very likeable. Kim Cattrall, Nicolette Sheridan, and “The O.C.’s” Melinda Clark are clear choices.
