P&B’s Summer Beauty Favorites
Here at Pink and Black we have compiled a list of summer beauty favorites, products that we can’t live without during the best season of the year. Between parties, beach days and social obligations, summer is the perfect time to experiment with your makeup and strengthen your beauty regimen.
Bright Nail Polish
Who wants a boring pedicure when you’re wearing those cute strappy sandals?
Lip stains are extremely hydrating, long lasting alternatives to lipstick. Here’s your ticket to smudge-free lips! Try Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.
Makeup fixers should be the last step to your makeup routine. In addition to primer, fixers help keep your makeup in place. They’re a must have in the summer when you’re trying to avoid a bad makeup meltdown situation.
Beauty bloggers are raving about blot powders, designed to help absorb oil and reduce shine. They’re great for problematic areas like your T-zone, and work wonders to set your regular foundation. M.A.C Blot Powder, which has received excellent reviews online, is definitely worth a try.
You need all the help you can get to reduce shine! Keep these in your bag and touch up throughout the day.
Liquid Eyeliner or Gel Eyeliner
We love pencil eyeliners, but they tend to smudge if you’re sweating a lot, so we recommend switching to a more waterproof liquid or gel eyeliner.
A good body scrub or exfoliator is a must-have in the summer. When you’re shaving every other day, you’re more likely to get razor bumps, irritated skin and ingrown hairs. You need to exfoliate once a week in order to get those stubborn hairs out! Don’t overdo it; over-exfoliation will lead to more irritated skin.
Sunscreen is a given in the summer, but we’ll include it on our list for the non-believers. Don’t leave the house without it!
Anti-frizz Hair Products
With the humidity and heat your hair tends to get really frizzy. An anti-frizz serum or spray will keep your hair sleek and smooth. Try Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum.
These are our beauty favorites for Summer 2012. Remember to continue keeping a healthy skin care regimen. When you’re sweating all day and not rinsing your face, the bacteria from the sweat rests on your skin and clogs your pores. This effect is intensified if you’re wearing makeup. We know, in the summer we tend to get lazy and skip steps when it comes to our skin care routine, but it’s vital to remove makeup at the end of the day and clean your face with a facial cleanser.
