Pink and Black’s List of TV’s Funniest Guys
By Katie Richards
Some say that laughter is the best medicine. So after a long day of classes or a tough day at work, what better way to relax and de-stress than have a few laughs? The men discussed below are some of TV’s funniest and most entertaining characters and are sure to put you in a good mood. Watch them, laugh a little (or a lot) and watch as your worries slip away.
While Zooey Deschanel brings her fun and quirky humor to Fox’s TV sitcom New Girl, Max Greenfield continues to steal the show, time and time again, as Schmidt. Max’s character Schmidt is one of Zooey’s three male roommates and is very self-obsessed. Schmidt’s one-liners and “douchebag jar” worthy comments—including “Has anyone seen my croquette cleats?” and “I can’t find my driving moccasins anywhere!”—deliver laugh after laugh. Max’s hilarious performance has even scored him an Emmy nomination for actor in a comedy series.
Community, an NBC comedy, is stacked with funny men from Joel McHale (also known for hosting The Soup) to Ken Jeong (The Hangover). The show focuses on students at a local community college who meet in a Spanish study group and eventually become a tight-knit group of friends. Some of the show’s stand out comedians include Danny Pudi as Abed, a bit of a social outcast filled with pop culture and television knowledge and Donald Glover as Troy, a high school prom king turned goofball thanks to his new friendship with Abed.
Another hilarious cast that is sure to make you laugh is The Office. Even though Michael Scott (Steve Carell) is no longer the man in charge, The Office is still filled with some of TV’s funniest men. Ed Helms, known for pulling out his own tooth in The Hangover, plays Andy Bernard, an optimist who dabbled in anger management after punching his fist through the wall. Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) steal many laughs and are the jokers of the office. Dwight and Jim constantly set each other up and fight to see who can pull off the most humiliating pranks.
Other shows filled with funny men include Saturday Night Live (a show stacked with hilarious men), How I Met Your Mother (starring Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel) and 30 Rock (with funny guys Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Jack McBrayer).
