Six Practical Fashion Essentials Every College Girl Needs

Six Practical Fashion Essentials Every College Girl Needs

The time to return to college is here. Everyone is making sure they remembered to buy Command hooks for the cute photograph collages on their walls or the ink to put in their printer that ran out last semester. Before those wallets are put away, here are practical and stylish clothing essentials for college.

Day

Rain Boots
Unfortunately, classes are not often canceled for a thunderstorm. Rain boots, particularly Hunter, are incredibly helpful for making the trek to your next class in inclement weather a more positive experience. Grab your raincoat and rain boots and stop worrying about puddles soaking your socks for the rest of the day.

Sperry Top-Sider Boat Shoes
These shoes are comfortable, water-resistant and work year-round with nearly every outfit. While wearing those adorable gladiator sandals from summer is fantastic, sometimes you need a more fashionable option than sneakers to speed-walk across campus to your 8 a.m. class.

Athletic Running Leggings
These pants, or even yoga leggings, are a good purchase for a variety of reasons. When it is raining, wearing wet jeans around campus all day might not be the most comfortable experience, but wearing these leggings with rain boots is an easy and quick-dry outfit for the rain. You can also come back from class, throw these pants on, and lounge in your bed or curl up at your desk to study without feeling constricted by jeans.

Night

Cross Body Bag
This bag is perfect for sporting events or going to a party. This purse makes the handbag hands-free so you don’t have to worry about constantly fussing with your purse. Most importantly, you can still fit all your necessary items such as your phone, money and college ID.

Black Bandage Skirt
You can pair practically any shirt or tank with this skirt and you are set for a night on the town. Forget looking under or overdressed and tugging on your outfit all night. These skirts are perfectly appropriate party wear and best of all, low-maintenance.

Black Flats
Invest in a pair of cute, comfortable black flats that match every outfit and they will become your shoe best friend.  These are perfect for darting between classes and will save you from the blisters and pain of heels after you dance the night away.

Picking up these pieces for your college closet will fully prepare you for some of the scenarios at school and keep you looking your best.

Great advice…wish I had invested in some Hunter rainboots rather than go through several pairs of cheap ones! Nothing is worse than trecking across campus with soggy socks

Love these ideas! You are so right about the leggings and Hunter boots on a rainy day; who wants to walk around in wet jeans?

What a great article. Informative, yet not boring in the least. Hats off to Meghan!
