This fall, denim is making its comeback. The ’80s were far too cruel to this essential closet staple so it’s back with a vengeance, making it one of this fall’s hottest trends. The one thing most (if not every) girl has in her closet is a pair of jeans. They’re a comfortable and easy go-to item for every day and we’ve gotten used to our favorite ol’ blue jeans that we can throw on with anything. This fall, however, the fashion gods have expanded your denim selection, inspiring a collection of the most creative styles to date. Here’s a breakdown of 5 of these trends that will give you a whole new appreciation for denim.
All-nighter studying for a test + 8 a.m. class = sweatpants, right? We’re all guilty of it, but even a million wrongs don’t make a right.
The typical college girl uniform has evolved into a wardrobe full of sweatpants, yoga pants, leggings and baggy t-shirts, but you do not need to follow the crowd. Lounge clothes can be great for hanging around your dorm, but there’s no reason you can’t kick your outfits up a notch for class without sacrificing too much comfort.
What seems like virtually overnight, colored denim has become one of the biggest trends to hit the street and does not seem to be going away. Denim jeans are a great way to cheer up your outfit during summer days. We all love a good pair of colored jeans, whether it is bright or pastel, because they always have a way of catching our eyes.
Perhaps you have already given in to buying some colored denim, and you may ask yourself, “How do I wear this? It may look so good on the model and on Pinterest, but how do I make a cool pair of colored jeans look good with things in my closet?”

Summer and early fall are the perfect times to experiment with denim and try out the season’s hottest trends. A diverse jean collection does not simply imply an array of light and dark washes; this season encourages a variety of fits, colors and styles that might have been viewed as impractical in years past. But this season, it’s all about stepping out of your comfort zone without looking over the top.
